Ingredients:

You will need the following ingredients for Chocolate cake.

75g/23/4 oz margarine or butter
300g/10½ oz sugar
2 eggs
300g/10½ oz flour
2½dl/ 9 fl oz milk (or buttermilk)
50g/ 13/4 oz cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicarbonate soda
1 tsp. vanilla sugar or 5 ml vanilla essence
(if desired 200g/7 oz chocolate sprinkles)

Method for Chocolate cake:

Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6. Combine margarine and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time. Stir well. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well.

Bake the cake in a cake tray in the middle of the oven.

Afterwards the cake may be decorated with white icing and chocolate sprinkles.

The cake tastes deliciously served with vanilla ice cream.
